CHESNEYS Standard Guarantee and Extended Warranty – Gas Stoves

 

Standard Guarantee

Thank you for purchasing a CHESNEYS product. We take pride in manufacturing wood-burning stoves to the highest standards using premium materials. Your satisfaction and safety are paramount, which is why all our stoves come with a standard 1-year manufacturer’s guarantee.

 

Guarantee Duration

1-year manufacturer’s guarantee from:

• The date of dispatch (direct purchases from CHESNEYS)

• The date of installation or delivery (for appliances purchased via official Trade Stockists)

• Guarantee applies to purchasers in the UK, Ireland, France, Belgium, and Holland and is governed by the laws of England and Wales.

 

What’s Covered

If your stove develops a fault due to a manufacturing or material defect within the guarantee period, CHESNEYS will, at our discretion, repair or replace the faulty component or stove free of charge.

 

Extended Warranty – Gas Stoves

Subject to registration and annual servicing, CHESNEYS provides the following extended warranties:

10 – year extended warranty is available on the fire box/chamber (welded steel or cast iron components)

5 – year extended warranty on the gas burner assembly

2 – year extended warranty on the gas valve assembly
  (NOTE: The pilot assembly must be replaced during the first annual service to qualify for Year 2 of the gas valve warranty)

This extended warranty includes the standard 1-year guarantee and runs from the installation date.

 

Exclusions to Standard Guarantee and Extended Warranty

The guarantee becomes void in the following circumstances:

• The product is not installed by a qualified installer (e.g. GAS SAFE)

• Installation does not comply with building regulations or CHESNEYS installation instructions

• The product is not serviced annually

• The chimney is not swept, where applicable

• Misuse, neglect, or the use of non-recommended fuels

• Over-firing or operating the appliance outside of guidelines

• The appliance is stored or used in a damp environment

• Corrosion or damage due to condensation or water ingress

• Repairs or modifications are performed by unauthorised persons

• The serial number removed or damaged

• Faults caused by draught issues or chimney defects

 

Not Covered – Serviceable Parts and Wear & Tear

The following items are considered serviceable and are not covered under this guarantee:

• Grates (steel, cast iron, or vermiculite)

• Rope seals

• Door assemblies including glass, hinges, handles

• Pilot assemblies and thermocouples

• Ceramic fuel effects and batteries

• Ancillary items such as log stores and shelves

• Paint finish – heat exposure may cause discolouration and requires occasional touch-up (not covered)

 

Making a Claim

To make a warranty claim:

• Claims must be made by the original purchaser – Chesneys trade stockist or owner of the appliance if purchased directly from Chesneys

• Accompanied by proof of purchase and serial number

• Submitted via email to warranties@chesneys.co.uk with supporting photographs and/or video

• Notified within 28 days of fault discovery

CHESNEYS reserves the right to:

• Inspect the product

• Request servicing records

• Decide whether to repair or replace the affected part

 

Customer Responsibilities

• During the first year, CHESNEYS may cover removal and re-installation (at our discretion).

• After year one, all removal, transport, packaging, and reinstallation costs are the responsibility of the customer.

• Replacement parts under warranty are covered only for the remainder of the original guarantee period.

 

Eligibility Requirements

• The stove must be registered within 28 days of installation via our warranty portal

• The product must be annually serviced by a qualified professional

• Only valid for domestic use

• Must be purchased via CHESNEYS or an authorised stockist

Non-transferable and only applies to the original purchaser

 

Legal and Statutory Rights

Nothing in this guarantee affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Liability for injury or damage caused by negligence is not excluded where prohibited by law. CHESNEYS’ liability is limited to the purchase price of the goods.
