CHESNEYS Standard Guarantee and Extended Warranty – Outdoor Living Products

 

Standard Guarantee

Thank you for purchasing a CHESNEYS product. We take pride in manufacturing wood-burning stoves to the highest standards using premium materials. Your satisfaction and safety are paramount, which is why all our stoves come with a standard 1-year manufacturer’s guarantee.

 

Guarantee Duration

1-year manufacturer’s guarantee from:

• The date of dispatch (direct purchases from CHESNEYS)

• The date of installation or delivery (for appliances purchased via official Trade Stockists)

• Guarantee applies to purchasers in the UK, Ireland, France, Belgium, and Holland and is governed by the laws of England and Wales.

 

What’s Covered

If your stove develops a fault due to a manufacturing or material defect within the guarantee period, CHESNEYS will, at our discretion, repair or replace the faulty component or product free of charge.

 

Extended Warranty – Outdoor Living Products (3 Years)

A 3-year extended warranty is available on the fire box/chamber (welded steel or cast iron components) for stoves purchased after 1 October 2018, provided:

• The stove is registered within 28 days of installation via our warranty portal

• Only domestic use applies (commercial settings excluded)

• Original proof of purchase is retained

This extended warranty includes the standard 1-year guarantee and runs from the installation date.

 

Exclusions to Standard Guarantee and Extended Warranty

The guarantee becomes void in the following circumstances:

• The product is not installed by a qualified installer (if applicable)

• Installation does not comply with building regulations or CHESNEYS instructions

• The product is not serviced or maintained as required

• The appliance is misused, over-fired, or neglected

• Storage or use in a damp environment

• Corrosion or damage due to condensation or water ingress

• Defects caused by local environmental conditions

• The serial number is missing or altered

• Modifications or repairs carried out by unauthorised persons

 

Exclusions (Extended Warranty)

• Covers fire box body only (not glass, seals, baffles, or other wear items)

• Applies only to products sold via CHESNEYS or authorised stockists

 

Not Covered – Serviceable Parts and Wear & Tear

The following items are considered serviceable and are not covered under this guarantee:

• Grates (steel, cast iron, or vermiculite)

• Internal protection plates (vermiculate insulation)

• Fire bricks and baffle plates

• Door assemblies (glass, hinges, handles, mechanisms)

• Rope seals and ash pans

• Ancillary items such as log stores and shelves

• Paint finish – heat exposure may cause discolouration and requires occasional touch-up (not covered)

 

Environmental and Paint Finish Disclaimer

CHESNEYS outdoor products are made from quality materials and high-temperature, weather-resistant paints. However, environmental exposure (e.g., salt air, rain, chemicals, UV, surface abrasion) can affect the paint and metal surfaces.

The extended warranty does not cover:

• Rust, oxidation, fading, or blemishes from weather/chemical exposure

• Scratches, dents, or cosmetic imperfections that do not impact function

 

Making a Claim

To make a warranty claim:

• Claims must be made by the original purchaser – Chesneys trade stockist or owner of the appliance if purchased directly from Chesneys

• Accompanied by proof of purchase and serial number

• Submitted via email to warranties@chesneys.co.uk with supporting photographs and/or video

• Notified within 28 days of fault discovery

CHESNEYS reserves the right to:

• Inspect the product

• Request servicing records

• Decide whether to repair or replace the affected part

 

Customer Responsibilities

• During the first year, CHESNEYS may cover removal and re-installation (at our discretion).

• After year one, all removal, transport, packaging, and reinstallation costs are the responsibility of the customer.

• Repaired or replaced components are covered only for the remainder of the original guarantee period.

 

Eligibility Requirements

• Applies only to original purchasers

• Must be purchased via CHESNEYS or an authorised stockist

• For normal domestic use only (not commercial)

• Product must be properly maintained (e.g., touch-up paint, rust prevention)

 

Legal and Statutory Rights

Nothing in this guarantee affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Liability for injury or damage caused by negligence is not excluded where prohibited by law. CHESNEYS’ liability is limited to the purchase price of the goods.
