CHESNEYS Standard Guarantee and Extended Warranty – Wood burning and Multi Fuel Stoves

 

Standard Guarantee

Thank you for purchasing a CHESNEYS product. We take pride in manufacturing wood-burning stoves to the highest standards using premium materials. Your satisfaction and safety are paramount, which is why all our stoves come with a standard 1-year manufacturer’s guarantee.

 

Guarantee Duration

• 1-year manufacturer’s guarantee from:

• The date of dispatch (direct purchases from CHESNEYS)

• The date of installation or delivery (for appliances purchased via official Trade Stockists)

• Guarantee applies to purchasers in the UK, Ireland, France, Belgium, and Holland and is governed by the laws of England and Wales.

 

Whats Covered

If your stove develops a fault due to a manufacturing or material defect within the guarantee period, CHESNEYS will, at our discretion, repair or replace the faulty component or stove free of charge.

 

Extended Warranty – Solid Fuel Indoor Stoves

A 10-year extended warranty is available on the fire box/chamber (welded steel or cast iron components) for stoves purchased after 1 October 2018, provided:

• The stove is registered within 28 days of installation via our warranty portal

• The stove is annually serviced and the chimney swept yearly

• Only domestic use applies (commercial settings excluded)

• Original proof of purchase is retained

This extended warranty includes the standard 1-year guarantee and runs from the installation date.

 

Exclusions to Standard Guarantee and Extended Warranty

The guarantee becomes void in the following circumstances:

• Improper installation (e.g., not by a HETAS-certified or competent installer)

• Non-compliance with building regulations or installation instructions

• Lack of regular servicing or failure to sweep the chimney annually

• Use of non-recommended fuels or clear misuse

• Over-firing or improper operation

• Damage from damp environments or water ingress

• Unauthorised modifications or repairs

• Serial number removed or defaced

• Damage caused by local chimney issues or draught conditions

 

Exclusions (Extended Warranty)

• Covers fire box body only (not glass, seals, baffles, or other wear items)

• Applies only to products sold via CHESNEYS or authorised stockists

 

Not Covered – Serviceable Parts and Wear & Tear

The following components are serviceable parts and are not covered under warranty:

• Fire bricks and rope seals

• Baffle plates, ash pans, and grates (steel, cast iron, vermiculite)

• Door assemblies, handles, hinges, and glass

• Ancillary items (shelves, log stores)

• Paint finish (colour change, touch-up or repainting required due to heat)

 

Making a Claim

• To make a warranty claim:

• Claims must be made by the original purchaser – Chesneys trade stockist or owner of the appliance if purchased directly from Chesneys

• Accompanied by proof of purchase and serial number

• Submitted via email to warranties@chesneys.co.uk with supporting photographs and/or video

• Notified within 28 days of fault discovery

 

CHESNEYS reserves the right to:

• Inspect the product

• Request servicing records

• Decide whether to repair or replace the affected part

 

Customer Responsibilities

• During the first year, CHESNEYS may cover removal and re-installation (at our discretion).

• After year one, all removal, transport, packaging, and reinstallation costs are the responsibility of the customer.

• Replacement parts under warranty are covered only for the remainder of the original guarantee period.

 

Eligibility Requirements

• The stove must be registered within 28 days of installation via our warranty portal

• The product must be annually serviced by a qualified professional

• Only valid for domestic use

• Must be purchased via CHESNEYS or an authorised stockist

• Non-transferable and only applies to the original purchaser

 

Legal and Statutory Rights

Nothing in this guarantee affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Liability for injury or damage caused by negligence is not excluded where prohibited by law. CHESNEYS’ liability is limited to the purchase price of the goods.
