It is worth googling ‘how to season your wok’ when using for the first time, as woks build up a non-stick quality this way. After use, the wok should be soaked in hot water to clean any detritus off but should not be washed with detergents. Carbon steel can rust if not looked after and so washing and carefully drying is important after every use.
