A collection of rare and beautiful natural marbles for the manufacture of fireplaces.
In response to the growing popularity of rare and unusual materials in the design of fireplaces, Chesneys has assembled a selection of beautiful marbles, chosen carefully for their wide range of colour and striation, to form The Special Materials Collection. These marbles range in appearance from the jewel-rich tones of Breche de Vendomme and Anatolian Lilac to the timeless monochromatic hues of Pele Tigre and Nero Marquina. As no two blocks of marble from the one quarry are ever the same, a fireplace commissioned from our Special Materials Collection will be as unique in its appearance as an original work of art and will provide a striking and sophisticated focus in the design of any room.
These marbles have been sourced from far and wide, including quarries in Italy, France, Spain and Portugal, and further afield, from Turkey, Africa, China and Greece. Some materials are more plentiful than others and are priced accordingly, meaning that it can be surprisingly affordable to commission a unique and beautiful architectural feature.
Any fire surround in the Chesneys range can be made to order from these special materials and below is a selection of designs that have been commissioned in these rare and beautiful materials. Every block of stone or marble is unique, and these images can only be seen as a a guide to the appearance of the material in question.
